This has to be one of the most racist cartoons I've ever seen. South Carolina must be a strange place with the Civil and not so Civil War still being fought. Although, if Stephen Colbert comes from Charleston, it can't really be a terible place. How Ms. Hailey can be a Republican is a mystery and how the cartoonist can looks himself in the mirror is equally puzzling. Wake up South Carolinians and join the rest of America. Enough of this 'hidden' racism and when are you going to stop supporting the most backward elements in our wonderful country. The rest of us want to move on. A good sign of change would be to vote for this black Forrest Gump fellow who's running against this fool, Sen DeMint. He might get more done to help your state move forward.

Suspicions mean nothing without proof. The most prominent person to say disgusting things about Mrs. Haley is a dyed-in-the-wool conservative Republican (Jake Knotts). No "posing" there.

How is Mr. Ariail a Republican for crying out loud???? Most of his cartoons lean, if anything, to the left. We already know (Tje Journ-0-Listas are but the latest example) that the strategy of the left is to scream "racist" at every opportunity, real or manufactured. But what alternative does the left have? The things that have been said about Nikki are disgusting, and I suspect MOST of it comes from Democrats posing as Republicans. She's their new Sarah.

Actually, it's more accurate to say "as long as the practitioners are violent extremists." The only folks on the left who care about the oppression of Tibetan Bhuddists by the Chinese are the deluded saps who actually think the point of progressivism is to make the world a better place for everyone (as opposed to the elite).

That first sentence is divine!

And yes, I would have to agree that this cartoonist lacks imagination if that's all he can come up with to show the "opposite of transparency" (I think the word he didn't know is "opaque"?). Or he's deliberately using this image to evoke a specific reaction–this seems most likely. As you say there are loads of images he could have used to evoke "the opposite of transparency" that aren't so politically- and socially- charged. A simple closed door would have done a far better job of evoking that than this does.

And of course we'll hear not a peep about this from the faux feminists who "champion women" or from the leftists who make a religion of religious tolerance (as long as that religion isn't Christian or Jewish). The double-standard is becoming more obvious with each passing day . . . and exposing them as partisan hacks who manipulate and twist feminism into some sort of exclusive club: Not all women are equal even to other women: conservatives need not apply.

Well I really wouldn't worry about it…cuz come November (which we can now see from our front porches) The GA/SC alliance will be run by the Wimmins and all will be right with the world. lol I cannot wait…I'll be voting for Karen and if I could vote for Nikki I would. Hey wait, I used to live in SC …wonder if they'd let me vote in both ….oh wait…not a democrat…oh well.
