I’m not saying that the humanitarian situation in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip is acceptable or that we shouldn’t sympathize with the suffering of the Palestinians living there. I’m just saying that the world isn’t seeing the whole picture. Enter the brand new shopping mall that just opened in the area so commonly referred to as the “world’s largest open air prison.”

All while it is claimed that that the people of Gaza have barely any money to survive on, can’t get essential materials in, and have inadequate electricity. See some of the photos by clicking here. You can also see photos of an Olympic-sized pool, high-end restaurants and packed food markets at the site, which also says that the life expectancy for someone in Gaza is higher than in Turkey.

Again, this doesn’t mean everything is dandy, but it isn’t a concentration camp either. And should Israel really be blamed for the problems that do exist in Gaza? Former Justice Department prosecutor and intelligence expert John Loftus gives the other side of the story here. One quote stands out:

On average, the Government of Israel delivers more humanitarian goods into Gaza each week than were carried by the entire flotilla. (15,000 tons typical Israel weekly shipment vs.10,000 tons one time flotilla shipment).

Hamas, on the other hand, has been reported to actually steal international aid and re-sell it to the people of Gaza at a higher price. Maybe that’s why the approval rating of Hamas in the Gaza Strip has fallen to 37 percent. They actually have greater support in the West Bank, where they don’t govern, than in the Gaza Strip, where they do. Like I’ve always said, to know radical Islam is to hate radical Islam.
