There are a couple of things that the Times chose to omit from its catalogue of alleged right-wing misdeeds, proving how much of an expert it is in distorting the full context of events.

On his Tuesday afternoon Fox News TV program, Glenn Beck denounced how the Obama administration had forced Ms. Sherrod to resign. He reminded his viewers repeatedly that “context matters” and pointed out – before the NAACP itself did – that Ms. Sherrod had appeared to be using her story to prove how she had later come to see the light on race relations.

Beck – not the New York Times – was one of the first to view Ms. Sherrod’s story as one of redemption and racial healing. He called for the Obama administration to take her back – the day before the administration reversed itself.

Moreover, the Times failed to report what Andrew Breitbart claimed from the beginning to be his reason for posting the excerpt of the speech that was provided to him.  It was not to single out Ms. Sherrod. It was members of her NAACP audience that he wanted to focus attention on.

Breitbart pointed out that while Ms. Sherrod was talking about her mishandling of the white farmer – before she got to the moral of her story – members of her NAACP audience were heard clapping and laughing.  They seemed to be approving of Ms. Sherrod’s original racially motivated misdeed. Breitbart’s point was that the NAACP should tend to the racists  in its own ranks before accusing the Tea Party of not doing the same.

Once again, the New York Times proves that it only prints the news that serves its progressive agenda, not “all the news that’s fit to print.”
