This power struggle is still raging, and the Catholic Church is making a big mistake in taking sides.  California is one state with many examples.

On Wednesday, June 23 over 800 PICO leaders in California converged on the State Capitol to call on state officials to make children a priority in our state budget.  Beginning at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacramento, PICO leaders including hundreds of youth and clergy marched to the State Capitol, where they spoke to state legislators and Governor Schwarzenegger through a press conference.

California TEA Party reaction?

Please stop this crap and just make the necessary cuts!  It’s like a band-aid, it’s time to close our eyes and pull it off.

It is time for America’s Catholic bishops to take responsibility for what they have helped to bring about by promoting healing in America.  They must make a unified stand now to end the Alinskyite community organizing activities of the CCHD in order to bring about an end to this polarization in America. Peace must come to America with the aid of the Catholic Church, not in spite of it.
