During the 2008 presidential campaign, then Senator Barack Obama said,
“Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Businesses would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that cost onto consumers.”
Little did we know, this is a campaign promise President Obama was adamant on keeping. Not only is Obama still pressing for cap-and-trade, he has used the tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico to continue his war on fossil fuels.
