5. Our nature is sinful. Doing good things does not change our nature, nor our worth.

While a small group of vampires in the movie play the good guys, it is made clear, that none of them would have chosen that life for themselves. Although they do good, they acknowledge that the good things they try to do, will not save them—they are in fact damned.

Again, this theme is woven throughout the saga.

Politically Incorrect Parenting views human nature as flawed, with a propensity to selfishness. But that does not in anyway detract from our worth. Whether a child behaves well, or is in complete rebellion does not detract from their worth. This fact, is lost on the politically correct parent. Their belief is that we are inherently good. However, worth is weighed by circumstance.

Most of the scenes I have used here are from the first Twilight movie, long since out on video. The new movie Eclipse, has much the same themes and opportunities for discussion.

One last bit of advice from a mother of six young women. Ask her a lot of questions about what she thought of the movie. You may learn more than you think.
