The rest of Stewart’s conversation focused on how the divide between the religious and scientific communities is a recent development, and the two sides need not be at odds with one another. One of the major reasons that Christianity and Judaism is being looked upon as a fairy tale more and more is because its adherents have failed to defend their faith and answer the skeptics’ questions as the Bible requires. Instead, they just say faith, faith, faith—but faith is meant to fill a gap in knowledge, not replace knowledge.
It is amazing to me how many Jews and Christians haven’t heard of books like The Exodus Case, which in my opinion definitively proves the historical accuracy of the Exodus story and other major elements of the Old Testament.
Christians and Jews shouldn’t look down upon those that feel they haven’t been given adequate reason to believe in God or the Bible—because they haven’t. And that’s our fault.
