Sydnicated columnist Michelle Malkin wrote a column entitled “The U.S. Department of Illegal Alien Labor” that was published this past Friday (June 25) exposing Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis as an Open Border/blanket-amnesty-for-illegals advocate.
While in Congress, she opposed strengthening the border fence, supported expansion of illegal alien benefits (including driver’s licenses and in-state tuition discounts), embraced sanctuary cities that refused to cooperate with federal homeland security officials to enforce immigration laws, and aggressively championed a mass amnesty. Solis was steeped in the pro-illegal alien worker organizing movement in Southern California and was buoyed by amnesty-supporting Big Labor groups led by the Service Employees International Union.
President Obama appointed Solis to be in charge of enforcing our labor laws knowing full well that she vociferously opposes our immigration laws. Malkin noted that Solis caused a great deal of controversy over her new outreach campaign to illegal immigrants regarding fair wages. What kind of a message does this send to people in other countries who may be contemplating a move to the United States?
If you can make it to the U.S. and find a job, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis promises that the federal government will ensure you are paid “fairly.” What a slap in the face to legal immigrant workers who endured long lines and followed the rules to be able to live and work in this country! This video is an open invitation to anyone thinking about migrating to the United States illegally. If you can make it past Customs and the Border Patrol, your biggest problem afterwards will not be possible detection and deportation. No, it will be finding a job. Once you have one, you’re golden. The Feds will leave you alone. In fact, they will even ensure that you are paid “fairly,” whatever that means.
What a schizophrenic administration! This is the mission statement of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol:

How can this Administration “steadfastly enforce” federal immigration law if its own Secretary of Labor ensures that all illegal immigrant workers will be paid fairly?
