MSM Tries to Transform McChrystal Controversy Into Obama Victory

Trying to turn a lemon into lemonade, the mainstream media has used President Obama’s handling of the McChrystal episode to rehabilitate Obama’s tarnished image.
Taking a pounding in the polls for his handling of the Gulf oil crisis, the economy, illegal immigration, big government programs such as Obamacare, etc., Obama was even beginning to get some flak from his usual supporters in the media. But that criticism was short-lived.
As if on cue, Obama was called “brilliant” by CBS, NBC, and CNN for deciding to fire General McChrystal and to replace him with the only realistic alternative – General Patraeus.
A montage of clips shown on the “O’Reilly Factor” and “Hannity’s America” shows the Obama cheerleaders in action. Here are a few examples of the mainstream media’s fawning descriptions of Obama’s decision.
CBS’ White House correspondent Chip Reid said,
it sounds like a pretty brilliant decision really.
stunning development…at a quick glance, almost brilliant
politically, in this town, it’s going to be seen as a brilliant choice by the President
a very brilliant move to tap General Petraeus
