The fellow conservative Canadian who BCC’d me the screenshot above wrote, in effect, “I love our American cousins but…”

However, I’m not convinced that particular geographical “blooper” is indicative of “ugly American”-ness. After all, as we’ve seen today, some Americans are geographically challenged when contemplating their own nation‘s states and borders.

And I can assure that despite their smug sense of superior intelligence, the average big city Canadian sincerely believes that every white man living below the Mason Dixon line (not that they could actually find said line on a map…) has only one tooth. You think I’m kidding.

We all project our own prejudices upon these things; I, for example, see that Milwaukee County Supervisor as confirmation of my belief that the 19th Amendment should be repealed.

Most folks reading NewsReal are likely in general agreement that the Mainstream Media is embarrassingly innumerate, not to mention scientifically and historically illiterate — all while proclaiming their intellectual superiority over their audiences. Why wouldn’t we expect the MSM to get continents and countries mixed up once in a while, too?
