How is it possible that in 2010 the opponents of anti-Semitism can be shut down by the “authorities” but the supporters of anti-Semites are allowed to have free reign in the internet and our college campuses with no repercussions for their actions while they spew vicious hatred against Jews?
Recently I was witness to three wrongs committed against me and the Jewish people but I alone was punished by a society whose moral compass has been turned upside down by the forces of political correctness and cultural relativism. These three wrongs were the following;
- 1. A member of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) and its former media officer, Jumanah Albahri, expressed her support for Hezbollah’s commitment of genocide against the Jewish people.
- 2. My Facebook profile was disabled because the supporters of Jumanah Albahri objected to my support of a Facebook group calling for her expulsion from her university (where the incident took place).
- 3. My blog was deleted at the behest of the creator of the group supporting Jumanah Albahri, Jacob Ryan Gutierrez and Ayesha Dar, another member of that group, and apologist for Albahri.
I would like to explain each of these three wrongs in more detail. A few months ago David Horowitz, the conservative writer, gave a talk at the University of California San Diego when during the question period, while asking him a question, Jumanah Albahri, admitted to supporting Hezbollah’s contention that:
If they (Jews) all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide. (Daily Star, Oct. 23, 2002)
As a Jewish blogger I was of course amazed that the university took no action for such a clear expression of genocide. If it had been a neo-Nazi white person saying all blacks should gather in one place to be lynched, I’m sure the university would have taken action. Unfortunately, as we have seen so often in Europe and now in America, Islamists seem to be able to express anti-Jewish sentiment to their heart’s content without any action being taken. Is this because political correctness teaches Muslims are always the victim now?
No matter how violent individual Muslims are and how much violence is espoused by their Imams from Mosques around the world Islam is always “the religion of peace.” The irony is that we in the West are told by our political leaders that terrorism committed by Muslims is just a “small minority” of extremists and not to judge Islam as a whole. What is never admitted by the media and government, though, is that even this belief means that a section of Islamic teaching does espouse violence against non-Muslims. It is as if only “greater jihad” exists without admitting that all orthodox schools of Islam do have a concept of “lesser jihad“ in which violence is justified against non-Muslims.
Besides blogging about Albahri, I wanted to show my dismay at her actions so I joined a facebook group seeking to expel Albahri from the university, “Expel Jumanah Imad Albahri from UC San Diego.” Over the next few days I became an active member there and posted my findings that Albahri’s mother Kelly actually sued a Jewish funeral home in 1992 for, well, being Jewish. I also discovered that Jumanah’s brother had previously been listed in a Jewish community report in 2001 as being behind a MSA anti-Semitic campaign including the distribution of the infamous Judeophobic Tsarist pamphlet “The protocols of the Elders of Zion.”
