A prominent and respected Islamic Scholar from India has been blocked from entering Canada, according to the National Post.  Dr.  Zakir Naik has proclaimed openly that a Muslim “should be a terrorist” and Jews are “our staunchest enemy”.

Naik is the Mumbai-based founder of Peace TV and the Islamic Research Foundation. He was to address a July “Journey of Faith Conference” at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, described as one of North America ’s largest Islamic conferences.

Herein lies a problem:  Naik poses as a friend of peace and dialogue, but he is a dangerous man.  He is a widely respected medical doctor, a highly influential Islamic Scholar in India, and has a strong following even outside of his country.  He has also spoken on numerous occasions in the Middle East, Canada and the U.S.  Back in 2006 he hosted an inter-religious dialogue in India about the concept of God in Islam and Hinduism which drew a whopping 50-thousand attendees.  His intent was to attract Hindu support by pointing out the commonalities between both religions. He successfully maintains his facade through his Islamic Research Foundation website that states its objective of presenting  “a proper understanding and appreciation of Islam”, as well as “removing misconceptions about Islam “.

Precisely what misconceptions this man is referring to is baffling, as he recommends capital punishment for homosexuals and the death penalty for Muslims who abandon their faith.  His teachings also promote men beating their wives (but he is careful to say “lightly”).  Then in a lecture at Melbourne University, Naik painted men as uncontrollable beasts by accusing Western women of being responsible for getting raped by how they dressed, while emphasizing the importance of wearing the hijab to discourage this.

According to the Journey of Faith event website, Naik was to be the featured speaker at the Toronto conference where the mission was for Muslims to “renew their forgotten relationship” with the Quran.  This is key as Naik spews hatred against Jews, violence against the West, oppression against women — obviously all part of what he preaches extensively as a “relationship with the Quran”.  What’s even more troubling is that ten thousand people were expected to attend, as Canada continues to become more Islamized.
