Is “Obama Goes Street” Racist?

The latest canard from the Left, as discussed last night on the O’Reilly Factor, is that the racial sterotype of menacing angry black men has led to unfair criticism of President Obama’s kicking “ass” comment in reference to those he finds responsible for the Gulf oil spill disaster.

For example, Mark Halperin of Time Magazine (who had no trouble peddling sexist stereotypes of Sarah Palin) accused Matt Drudge of stoking racial feelings with the headline on Drudge Reports that reads “Obama goes street: Seeking ‘ass to kick’ ” Former press secretary for Bill Clinton Dee Dee Myers said that using the phrase “gone street” when referring to kicking ass has racial connotations.

Interestingly, Drudge removed the “offensive’ headline. I could not find it in his archives. O’Reilly has offered to have Drudge on his show to explain the intent behind the headline.

The leftist members of the mainstream media see racism in virtually every criticism of Obama.  However, they are blind to their own prejudices.  The fact is that the majority of voters elected Obama, and the American people supported Obama overwhelmingly at the outset of his administration. They wanted him to succeed.  He is being criticized today for his incompetence, not his race.

In fact, Obama may want to try to administer the kick to his own posterior for his utter lack of leadership.
