Did I wake up in a parallel universe or something?  While browsing this morning’s news and opinion, I came to a startling discovery: I…agree with the Daily Kos about something.

For those of you who haven’t stormed away from your computers in shock and disgust, hear me out.  Yesterday, California Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina had a bit of a micro-incident (it doesn’t deserve full-blown scandal status):

Unaware of an open mic before a television interview on Wednesday, Fiorina mocked rival Sen. Barbara Boxer‘s hair, complained about Fox-TV’s Sean Hannity and grumbled about Election Night cheeseburgers.

“I find it really surprising,” she said. “I think it’s bizarre. … I think it’s a very bad choice, actually. You know how he is. Sean Hannity is not an easy interview.”

Kos contributor SquareBoy’s reaction:

She must feel, mindlessly, that Hannity really is a tough interviewer.   Which is beyond strange.  Did she have him confused with [thinking of tough US interviewers – drawing a blank]?  Hannity is where Rand Paul sought refuge only yesterday, after experiencing a couple of tough (but extremely fair) interviews.  It’s where Sarah Palin goes after getting a bruising from, umm, Bill O’Reilly.

(Fiorina has since cast her remarks as a compliment that Hannity does his job well.)

Sprinkled throughout the post is the usual hyperbole about dumb, mindless Republicans, but the essential point is correct: Sean Hannity is an easy interview, one of the easiest in the industry.
