Good news: George Galloway – an incredibly anti-American member of the British Parliament who stood by his buddy Saddam Hussein’s side until the very end – won’t be returning to Parliament. The man who told everybody who wanted to hear it that Iraq’s brutal former dictator “was not hated” by the Iraqi people lost his seat during Thursday’s elections. This even though he desperately tried to hang on to it by shifting over to the constituency of Poplar and Limehouse from the neighbouring constituency of Bethnal Green and Bow.

Galloway‘s defeat isn’t as perfect as it could have been, because he lost the election not to a Tory but to a candidate of the social democratic Labor party but hey, we really shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Galloway is out, and that’s all that matters.

For those who don’t remember who Galloway is: he was one of Saddam Hussein‘s most vocal supporters in the West. He defended the man who oppressed, tortured and murdered his own people at every possible occasion. In good old leftist fashion, the now former MP actually sided with the enemy of his own country when the Coalition of the Willing invaded Iraq back in 2003.

Not only was Galloway a good friend of Saddam, he’s also a vocal supporter of the terrorists from Hamas. Wherever an enemy of the West, of freedom and of democracy can be found, there is George Galloway.

It sometimes takes a while for justice to be done in democracies but it will be done eventually. Galloway is gone; he will not represent anyone aside from his wacko self anymore. And that’s great news for all those living in the West – and especially for those of us living on the old continent.
