Michael van der Galien was born in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden in 1984. For as long as he can remember, he has been obsessed with the United States. When he was 17 years old, he started blogging - of course about America. His articles have been published at Big Hollywood, Pajamas Media, Hot Air (the GreenRoom) and Right Across The Atlantic. He's also an editor for the Dutch conservative blog, De Dagelijkse Standaard.

Surprise, surprise:

The world’s top-earning hedge fund managers have bankrolled almost exclusively Democratic campaigns, according to Silla Bush of The Hill:

The top 10 highest-paid hedge fund managers in 2009 have dished out campaign contributions almost only to Democrats.

Over their lifetimes, those managers have given almost $33 million in campaign contributions to Democrats, according to research by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and that is based on data maintained by the nonpartisan CQMoneyline.

My, my, who would have thought?

As the Daily Caller points out, “finance, insurance and real estate interest have given approximately 54 percent of contributions to Democrats versus the 45 percent Republicans have received” in the 2010 election cycle, which “might explain why labor unions have been miffed over the  contentious financial overhaul bill.”

In other words, leftists are hypocritical beyond belief when they slam conservatives for being a movement of, by and for the corrupt rich, who are willing to destroy the economy in order to make a quick buck.

As an aside, this report reminds me of a quote from Saul Alinsky‘s Rules for Radicals: “I have on occasion remarked that I felt confident that I could persuade a millionaire on a Friday to subsidize a revolution for Saturday out of which he would make a huge profit on Sunday even though he was certain to be executed on Monday.” Nothing has changed, has it?
