Handling the RevolutionMuslim.com threat against the makers of South Park should be easy for any spokesman for an organization. Condemn it unequivocally and leave it at that. But not Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the “advocacy” group that was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood’s “Palestine Committee” and is listed by the government as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the Holy Land Foundation trial. No, Hooper has to go and mess things up by being honest.
In a FoxNews.com report on the poster of the threat (click here), Ibrahim Hooper is interviewed and he makes this statement:
“They say wild and irresponsible things periodically,” Hooper told FoxNews.com. “There’s a strong suspicion that they’re merely a setup to make Muslims and Islam look bad. They say such wild and crazy things that you have to wonder.”
Yup, in his mind, RevolutionMuslim.com might be a false front by anti-Muslim bigots. A few years ago, I met two of the people who wrote for this site. They spewed anti-Semitic, anti-American venom. If they are actors sent to “make Muslims and Islam look bad,” then they deserve Oscars and have a career in Hollywood (although they could probably do so anyway given their framing of terrorists as freedom fighters and America as the selfish imperialist).
This type of thinking is common among “soft jihadists” who have Islamist goals but differ with Al-Qaeda on tactics. They see everything through the prism of the so-called war on Islam being waged by the U.S. government and its Zionist puppeteers.Their immediate reaction isn’t to simply denounce reprehensible acts by Muslims as a way of improving their community’s image, but to attribute it to some conspiracy that is, most likely in the minds of people like Hooper, put together by the Zionist camp. Hooper should have tried to argue that Islam does not mandate the killing of those who insult Mohammed if he really wanted to take a theological jab at the enemy.
And by the way, why the hell is the media, especially Fox News, still going to CAIR as if they are the legitimate representative of the Muslim community? If the media really cares about moderate Muslims, they would hand them the microphone that they are currently giving to the Muslim Brotherhood affiliates.
