Michael van der Galien was born in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden in 1984. For as long as he can remember, he has been obsessed with the United States. When he was 17 years old, he started blogging - of course about America. His articles have been published at Big Hollywood, Pajamas Media, Hot Air (the GreenRoom) and Right Across The Atlantic. He's also an editor for the Dutch conservative blog, De Dagelijkse Standaard.

If you’re wondering whether all the talk about President Obama‘s dropping approval ratings is exaggerated or not, I advise you to look at Rasmussen’s latest poll. The famous pollster asked likely voters whom they would vote for if the next presidential election was a two-men race between Barack Obama and…  Congressman Ron Paul. The results:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of likely voters finds Obama with 42% support and Paul with 41% of the vote. Eleven percent (11%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

How the mighty have fallen: The man who was heralded as the new Messiah of the Left a year ago can’t even beat a crackpot conspiracy theorist, infamous for his tolerance for anti-Semites and the like, in April of 2010. Life sure is full of surprises, isn’t it?
