Jim Carrey Defends Tiger, Blames the Victim

Michael van der Galien was born in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden in 1984. For as long as he can remember, he has been obsessed with the United States. When he was 17 years old, he started blogging - of course about America. His articles have been published at Big Hollywood, Pajamas Media, Hot Air (the GreenRoom) and Right Across The Atlantic. He's also an editor for the Dutch conservative blog, De Dagelijkse Standaard.

Actor Jim Carrey once again proved conservative critics of Hollywood right when they say that “the stars” are out-of-touch leftist moral relativists. Writing on Twitter, the man seen as a clown by many ordinary Americans defended Tiger Woods and blasted his wife, Elin.

Eline has herself to blame for her husband’s infidelity, Carrey opined. “No wife is blind enough to miss that much infidelity,” Carrey wrote. “Elin had 2 b a willing participant on the ride 4 whatever reason. kids/lifestyle ;^)” As for the famous golfer himself, he “owes nothing 2 anyone but himself. 2 please his father he gave up his childhood and his freedom in the world. That’s enough!”

Although Woods’ lack of fidelity to his wife is indeed nobody else’s business, Carrey’s attacks on Elin are tasteless to the extreme. Elin is the victim, not the perpetrator. Besides, didn’t the crisis in their marriage occur after Elin discovered her husband had several affairs and confronted him with it?

I understand it that a millionaire actor with too much time on his hands enjoys tweeting day in, day out, but I think Carry should take the advise of “his people” to heart and “tame [his] tweets.”
