Nick Bergamini and Mark Klibanov, two Ottawa students, were attacked by a group men who yelled ‘Zionist’ and ‘Jew ‘

The morning after Ann Coulter’s Ottawa speech was canceled thanks to the hijinks of  “peaceful” student protesters, I typed “Ann Coulter + Ottawa” into Google News and turned up over 2000 stories.

Ottawa students were involved in another, even more violent incident in our nation’s capital last night. Oddly enough, it isn’t getting 1/1000th the media attention. Here’s what happened:

One of them opened the trunk and I saw glistening in the street light the reflection of a 12-inch machete.

“F***ing Jew,” he shouted. I began to run for my life as he was only 5 or 6 feet away. I ran, and as I looked back, I saw the long shiny blade slicing through the air about 12 inches from my neck. I ran as fast I could and, thanks to my grade 9 track and field training, got away. (…)

In this country, people are no longer safe if they support Israel. But you know what? I will never take back my beliefs.

I support Israel 100 per cent.

But I will say this. Some of the guys who tried to kill us are Carleton students and I recognize who they are. What is this country coming to?

So, judging by media attention alone, Ann Coulter is an exponentially bigger threat to the Queen’s peace than knife-wielding anti-semitic students, or those Toronto Muslims I told you about yesterday, who were yelling, “We need another Holocaust!” and “We love jihad!”

Not to be outdone, Swedish journalists clearly have their fingers on the fading pulse of reality, and decided to bury the lede while a family buries a murdered grandmother:

Muslim Community Fears Violence After Attack On Elderly Couple

As Mark Steyn observes today:

That’s the ticket: A purely hypothetical outbreak of violent attacks on Muslims always trumps actual violent attacks on non-Muslims. In a Tim Blair reader’s note-perfect parody of a Guardian headline after the 2005 London Tube bombings:

“British Muslims Fear Repercussions Over Tomorrow’s Train Bombing”

But, alas, this is a world beyond parody.
