Prepare For Disaster, Going Digital is Now Bad For The Planet

If you thought going green was good, think again! There are now people saying that going digital is harmful to the environment.

On the PBS website, there is an article that tells us that going digital is not the answer:

“Coal-powered digital media is destructive to the environment in many ways beyond deforestation. Coal fired power plants are responsible for 93% of the sulfur dioxide and 80% of the nitrogen oxide emissions generated by the electric utility industry. These emissions cause acid rain that is destroying red spruce forests in the Northeast and Appalachia, and killing brook trout and other fish species in the Adirondacks, upper Midwest and Rocky Mountains.”

I guess it’s not all bad, because all of the “green,” Prius-driving, smug, environmental nut jobs are screwing up the planet just as much as anyone else with cell phones, computers, etc. We have had a global freezing scare, global warming scare, and now a green scare? Give me a break.

Who knows what’s right? The next time I get an email that says “consider the environment before printing this email,” I’m printing it twice.
