Theodore Dalrymple Discusses His Latest Book

Posted on March 27 2010 12:17 pm
Michael van der Galien was born in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden in 1984. For as long as he can remember, he has been obsessed with the United States. When he was 17 years old, he started blogging - of course about America. His articles have been published at Big Hollywood, Pajamas Media, Hot Air (the GreenRoom) and Right Across The Atlantic. He's also an editor for the Dutch conservative blog, De Dagelijkse Standaard.

Ed Driscoll had the honor to talk to Theodore Dalrymple about his latest book, The New Vichy Syndrome. I listened to the 20-minutes long conversation between the two men and was thoroughly impressed by Dalrymple’s take on the immigration and integration problem in Europe, it’s lack of appreciation for its own culture and history, the Old Continent’s vulgar (TV) culture and more.

As far as I’m concerned, the author is right on the money with his thoughtful analysis. If you’re interested in Europe, you’ve got to listen to this audio.

After listening to the discussion, I ordered his book. I might write a short review of it for NewsReal Blog. Watch this space, I’d say.
