France Drops Plans For A Carbon Tax

It would be nice if this decision had been made based on the fact that the science behind global warming, which Cap & Trade is allegedly supposed to correct, is pure bunk. Instead, the decision has been made based on fears over what Cap & Trade would do to the French economy.

From the Associated Press: “PARIS —

France is backing down from a plan to tax carbon-dioxide emissions that had been a central plank of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s push for a more prominent role in the global fight against climate change.”

The irony is this comes after Socialist election victories this weekend.
