I’m a reader of the works of JihadWatch’s Hugh Fitzgerald.  He is an exceptionally knowledgeable historian and brilliant essayist who enriches my understanding of why we in the United States find ourselves in our current position with Islam: mass public confusion resulting from years of misdirection by apologists, led blindly into a just but misunderstood war by ignorant elected politicians who have neglected to delve into the grim realities of Muslim history and doctrine.

Fitzgerald’s latest opus, the analysis of an episode of the Canadian Michael Coren’s TV show (photo above) is a must-read and must-see. Coren’s guests included Steve Gilchrist, Joan Crockatt and Tarek Fatah, discussing the well-worn question as to whether Islam is the Problem or is it Radical Islam that is the Problem.  His exposure of Gilchrist’s authoritative-sounding abject lack of knowledge (or lying) of violence-commanding Koranic verses, and the failure of Fatah to speak what he knows to be true about doctrinal commands for Muslims to kill Infidels, is as incisive and revealing as it gets.

Fitzgerald’s masterpiece, complete with irrefutable video evidence, is here:

“…Gilchrist is, physically, a large and even beefy man. And his manner is that of someone who doesn’t tolerate nonsense, cuts right to the chase, is unafraid to tell it just as he sees it, no matter what anyone thinks. That’s right, that about sums up Steve Gilchrist, not one to mince words, so he tells us, not someone afraid to tell the truth. And what is it that no-nonsense unafraid-to-tell-the-truth-when-all-around-him are so afraid, tells us? Well, he tells us – take a look at 5.11-5.20 – that nowhere in the Qur’an is anyone told to kill Unbelievers, Infidels. Just like that. It’s clear. It’s obvious. Steve Gilchrist knows this. I, we, don’t quite know how he knows this, for surely, if he read the Qur’an, he must have come across hundreds of Jihad verses. He must have read Sura 9, he must have read 9.29 and 9.5 at least. Did none of the following verses ever swim into his Canadian ken?

Qur’an 9:111: “The believers…shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain…”

Rarely outside JihadWatch, Discover The Networks and a precious few courageous authors does one have the pleasure of reading such a brutally forthright expose’ of the sickening pabulum we in the West have been force-fed for so long about Islam and its doctrines.  Please take the opportunity to read this one.  It is Hugh Fitzgerald at his very best.
