The Slaughter Solution: The Metamorphosis of The American Republic Into Government By Fiat

A very dangerous act is being attempted by the Left to secure their rule over the American people and transform the legislative process from a Constitutional Republic to a government by fiat. Today on Fox News Sunday, Democratic leader Rep. Chris Van Hollen admitted Democrats intend to use the unconstitutional “Slaughter Rule” as a solution to ram nationalized health care through Congress without majority vote and in defiance to the will of the American people.
The Slaughter rule would declare that the House of Representatives “deems” the Senate health care bill “passed” by the House. House members would have to vote on whether to accept the rule, but would then be able to claim they only voted for a rule, not for the bill itself. In other words, Democrats will avoid a direct vote on the health care bill while allowing it to become law! They will take over one-sixth of the US economy without voting on it in direct violation to the legislative process defined by the U.S Constitution. Article I, Section VII, Clause II specifically states,
Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively.
Constitutional Attorney Mark R. Levin described the severity of this action on our Republic,
“Here we have the President of the United States and Congressional leaders actually talking about the possibility of a brazen and open violation of one of the most fundamental aspects of our Constitution and Republic! How we actually make laws!
Let me be as clear as I know how. If this is done, this will create the greatest Constitutional crisis since the Civil War. It would be 100 times worse than Watergate.
…It would be government by fiat… meaning there would be no law… the mere discussion by officials in this government is such a grotesque violation of the actual legislative function of Congress [that it] puts us… at the brink. At the brink.
This is why we conservatives revere the Constitution. This is why we stress the Constitution’s words have meaning and historical context and must be complied with. Because otherwise we have anarchy, which leads to tyranny.
This is a crucial lesson for those of you who… aren’t sure what your beliefs are, or if you have any beliefs. Or aren’t sure if you even care. We have an effort underway by the one of the most powerful chairmen in Congress, the woman who heads the Rules Committee, …openly discussing gutting Congress. Gutting Congress.”
Our Founding Fathers intentionally designed the government of the United States as a Republic, a political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who vote for representatives responsible to them. If successful in using the “Slaughter Solution” to pass healthcare, precedence will be set for Democrats to disregard Constitutional law and the citizens they represent from this point forward. “Progressive” transformation of the American government and way of life will no longer be an issue. The “Slaughter Solution” will be their justification to ram every leftist policy they choose into law. The government of the United States will cease to be a Republic. It will be ruled by their fiat. The people must speak up now or 234 years of freedom and liberty will be lost to tyrannical rule.

How can we stop this blatant breaking of the law ? Are there any honorable legislators left in the land ?I truly believe there will be a very special place in hell for those who are by design destroying this God given & God fearing nation,the wrath of God will be on your heads!
If it's not stopped it will lead to massive electoral defeat for the Dems, as well as criminal prosecution and punishment. Health care will most assuredly end up before SCOTUS, and this may very well become a battle between SCOTUS vs POTUS and Congress.

I heard a few legal experts on one of the FOX cable shows, answer the question about whether or not we could repeal the healthcare legislation, after the fact. The answer was that we could, however first we need to take the country back, which leads to an interesting question:
Perhaps we should just let them ram healthcare through this way. If we can't oust them from power then it makes no difference, and by doing so, it would make it MUCH easier for us to drive them out of Washington DC. We'd certainly take over both House & Senate in November, wouldn't we?

The press to the Left by the Left with their goal of transforming the US into a socialist state will only be harder to stop if this monstrosity passes. Besides, what other bitter pills has the shadow government hidden inside this bill.
The law won't have to be repealed. If it wasn't passed by both houses with yea or nay votes, then it is not law and there will be no need to follow the law.
Aren't they really talking about passing a law which would change the way future laws are adopted?
A process similar to the "Slaughter Solution" has been used a few times before to expedite a bill through Congress when majority votes were apparent and need existed for quick passage. This is the first time Congress has attempted the same with unconstitutional legislation, obvious lack of votes and against the will of the American people. If successful Dems will use it as precedence to pass every piece of legislation they can't get through Congress constitutionally.
My fear is that once it is law, it will be incredibly hard to repeal. As with any government program, getting it stopped is much harder than getting it going. The dems know this. The POTUS knows this. His minions are doing everything they can to shred our laws and write their own!
Actually technically, if the bill is ran through using the "Slaughter Rule". Then really it is actually not a law. There would be nothing to repeal if they use this solution.. No one would legally be able to be compelled to follow the phony law. I'm sure they would try, but technically if it is not passed as written in the constitution, it isn't a law.
It's my understanding that the House Democrats consulted with the Senate parliamentarian and asked him, if they did this, could the bill then go to the Senate where things that the House Democrats don't like could be taken out via. reconciliation. From what I heard on Fox the parliamentarian looked askance at this plan. He said the rule about reconciliation in the Senate requires that they vote to modify a law. I remember somebody saying, "They ought to watch that little cartoon about how a bill becomes a law."
The House and the Senate have to pass the same bill, and then the President has to sign it. Anything considered in reconciliation would have to go through this process first, and he didn't think it was kosher for the House to "deem" it passed for it to become law.
Secondly, anything considered in reconciliation in the Senate must only deal with issues of taxes and spending. Policy language, such as changing the abortion language in the aforementioned law, is not supposed to be voted on in reconciliation. If they try it, any opponent could raise a point of order, and have that language removed from the motion for reconciliation.
I'm unclear on this whole "rule" thing for passing the Senate bill, whether the bill could be sent on to the President to sign after this is done. Even if they do this, I doubt they'll get the changes they want from the Senate, because what they want changed has to do with policy.
Both parties (when in power) will use it, and our government will be kaput. Elections will be irrelevant.

First I have to ask: What is actually being seized, and from whom? Second, I have to warn you, here come a lot of fractions.
One-sixth of the US economy is healthcare-related. Okay. That I get. But the entire healthcare economic sector is not in play with ObamaCare. Only a fraction of a fraction is, ie, the uninsurable due to preexisting conditions and the uninsured due to unaffordability.
Remember, about one-half of the healthcare economic sector is already federalized, through Medicare, Medicaid, S-CHIP, and other fed programs.
This is every bit as severe as what happened in Nazi Germany. In 1933, Hindenburg signed the "Reichstag Fire Decree," suspending the rights of the German communists, effectively removing them from parliament. With the Nazis now in majority, parliament passed the "Enabling Act," which gave Hitler's cabinet legislative powers that did not previously exist. Of course, we all know the rest of that story.
I agree this is a bad way to do business. If the rule is used, it can be tested for constitutionality in the courts, right?

Too late. It’s already been seized.
Medicare is a Federal entitlement. That’s the health care economy for everyone 65 and older.
Much of the rest oinvolves insurance obtained through employers. That’s regulated and the Government seriously disrupts the market by providing tax breaks to both employers and employees.
So this is really about the leftovers, the 30 million plus who aren’t already ensured. That’s not remotely close to 1/6th of the economy.
You can not prevent the government from seizing anything close to 1/6 of the economy because it’s mostly a done deal. At this point, all you can do is start to take it back.
I seriously doubt anyone is going to take back the part that goes to those over 65. Or convince the large majority who get their employer-provided insurance in a rigged market they’d be better off buying their own, unsubsidized health insurance in a free market.
They keep talking as if they are changing the senate bill by removing corru;pt deals and adding student loans. Are those in the supposed fixes? If they change anything and don't pass senate version exactly, then it has to go back to the senate for the Scot Brown treatment.

The world looks at amazement that the Pentagon has not removed Congress from Washington based on the Declaration of indepence, a tyranical government destroying the inalienable rights of Americans. I don't know what we do anymore. Most of us, US Citizens, can't afford to go to DC to protest. Many of us can't afford to miss work. We are living paycheck to paycheck as it is. Even if we can get 100,000+ citizens to protest, they just ignore us, as seen by all of the rallies over the last year. We write letters, they toss them in the trash. We call, they don't pick up the phone. I have written my Congressman and Senator before and never got a response. Called on the phone and got an answering machine.
Are they above impeachment? Do we charge them with treason? How do we start it? How do we hold an election to replace them? As an ordinary citizen, I have no idea. Can we collectively elect a new watchdog group to audit the government? How would we ensure they are incorruptible? They won't even let us audit the Federal Reserve, and that is our money!
What do we do? I don't want to give up hope, but I feel as an average ordinary citizen that I am at a loss as to what to do. What do I do?
What you do is what my uncle did. A few years ago he said, “Things are getting so bad, I’m sorta looking forward to dying.” He died. Shouldn’t be long before I follow.
Then it’ll be your turn.
We are truly on the brink. Will enough citizens care to make a difference?

For many of us, the US Constitution provides a sense of security from totalitarianism or from tyranny. Yet for many of those in office today, it serves as a mere annoyance. The Consitution no longer prevents them from Totalitarion action, it only complicates the overall process. This truly is Progressivism run amock.
Currently in Greece, the entitlement recipients are violently rioting because the Govt. can no longer afford to provide the entitlements. This same outcome will likely occur in the US if after Obamacare is passed, the Conservative Majority attempts to repeal it. This is precisely what Obama and Pelosi are counting on. There is no way the God-fearing, America loving, Conservative Majority will continue a push for repeal once the millions of uninsured begin to scream "racism" and fight to keep the "free stuff". Regardless the outcome, the mechanism for Social Transformation will be in place.
A government by fiat will lead to a third American Revolution, only this time, it could be a french revolution, one where people kill without thought.
Any government that tries to rule by fiat, will find itself alone, when all the states invoke their own rights and tell DC to go screw.
