Mickey Mouse a Progressive?

Today’s Walt Disney’s annual shareholder meeting offers an opportunity for investors to question CEO Robert Iger whether his personal political bias is affecting Disney’s business decisions.
The details about Iger’s politics and Disney’s annual meeting is the focus of a press release from the Free Enterprise Project of the National Center for Public Policy Research.
While Iger has rejected several offers to sell the distribution rights of the award winning ABC docudrama “The Path to 9/11,” he coincidentally sends the vast majority of his political donations to progressive politicians and advocacy groups. It’s fair to question whether he is keeping a lid on this miniseries — which was critical of the Clinton Administration.
Given today’s polarized political environment, playing politics with shareholder assets could easily backfire on investors.
