L.A. Times: Why Obamacare Will Never Pass

Well it looks like the LA Times is in the running for a Pulitzer prize for finally breaking the big story about Congress: They’ll vote on Obamacare based on what’s best for them, not what’s best for us.

And here I was thinking that they work for us. Apparently  the debate over Obamacare got so heated that one Democratic Congressman slipped and actually admitted the truth to a LA Times reporter.

“It’s a no-win situation for those of us in moderate districts,” said one House Democrat who asked not to be named when describing his quandary. “If you vote no, your base is upset. If you vote yes, everyone else is upset. You almost couldn’t design a legislative vise more damaging to moderate Democrats — or that puts our majority more at risk.”

Sarcasm aside, I’m always amazed at how brazenly self centered and dishonest politicians can be. I’m reminded of a joke told by President Bartlett on “West Wing”:

A politician was making a speech and someone in the audience yelled out “You’re Lying”, and he replied “Yes, but hear me out.”
