On Fox News just now GOP political strategist Andrea Tantaros referred to this developing Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) controversy — with its shower room arguments and drunken wedding comments as,
“a Larry Flynt screenplay of DC.”
Flynt, the founder of Hustler magazine and a notorious pornographer (and occasional leftist pundit,) does not exactly do screenplays. Most of his company’s “films” (if you want to dignify them as such) would have “screenplays” as long as a post-it note.
If Tantaros was looking for a sleazy Hollywood screenwriter who over-sexes his scripts she might have been better served naming someone like Joe Eszterhas, the “scribe” behind such trash as “Showgirls” and “Basic Instinct.” But that reference would have likely gone over Fox News viewers heads.
Aside from that the substance of Tantaros comments — urging conservatives not to embrace the tainted Massa — were right on. Good for her.
