“But what the Democrats never understand is that Americans don’t really care what position you take, just stick with one,” Maher said. “Just be strong. They’re not bright enough to really understand the issues. But like an animal, they can sort of sense strength or weakness. They can smell it on you.”
This isn’t the first time he’s said such things, and I’ve written about Maher’s idiocy before, but I figure it is a form of recycling, which may serve to offset some of my Right Wing radical extremism. Plus, any chance to mock Bill Maher is A-OK with me. This isn’t even the first time he’s said such things on CNN, a network that unfathomably often has him on as a guest giving policy opinion. Why is he considered a political expert? I expect such shams from the oafish Keith Olbermann, and even Larry “I literally am older than dirt” King, but I did expect slightly more from their alleged news programming.
I saw Maher on Blitzer’s show a few years ago, when he had been given a segment on CNN discussing General Petraeus. Throughout he segment, he clearly displayed that he was suffering from the final stages of Bush Derangement Syndrome, which, by the way, mutated into Obama Messianic Syndrome. At one point, Maher called General Petraeus a stooge. Oh, really, you smarmy little “man” (term used loosely)? General Petraeus doesn’t march in lock-step with your left-wing talking points and agenda, so you call him, a man who has served his Country with honor, courage, strength, dignity and integrity for years, a stooge. And what exactly have you been doing while General Petraeus has been risking his life for you for years, Mr. Maher? Oh, that’s right. You’ve been busily tom-catting around and getting sued for palimony.
At the time, I thought Bill Maher deserved a trip to the waterboarding room. It turns out, I still feel that way. Bill Maher has continued to make it quite apparent that he believes that anyone who does not march in lock-step with his ideas are rubes as well. Typical of the Left; further their own agenda in any despicable way that they can.
This past Summer, I broke my self-imposed rule and attempted to watch another one of his CNN appearances. It took several tries – my shaking fist kept pausing the DVR. During that particular segment, he, of course, started immediately bashing Sarah Palin. A woman who is not even running for any public office and is now a private citizen. In a way, I understand his lashing out; being surrounded by Liberal lackeys, I’m quite certain Palin is an anomaly to him. He then moved onto Americans in general, or, according to him and his buddies on the left, Un-Americans. Besides calling us ‘soulless vampire bastards making money off human pain’ (those of us who simply oppose ceding control of our health care entirely to the Government, and dare to voice said concerns) he, once again via tired talking point rote, called us Stupid as well.
While I am hesitant to give this vile little man any further face time, and aside from the fact that he totally brought his own Stupid, contradicting his own premise several times, I couldn’t let it go. It’s important that we remember that this is actually what many on the radical left believe. You see, they don’t know what to do with us; we confuse them. Since they can’t back up their ideas with rational facts, they resort to name-calling, as if since we don’t simply take their Oh-So-Smart word for it, we must be buffoons.
They don’t understand people who are self-sufficient and self-reliant. People who practice what they preach always and not only when convenient. People with real life experiences and learning. People who know that cutting someone’s taxes means WAY more to a family than sending them a token check. People who have worked with their hands and not just in theory. People who are smart and gifted and tough as nails.
Guess what, Bill Maher? You aren’t better than us. You aren’t smarter than we are. But I’m glad you think so because you will be in for a huge, rude surprise. While we generally wish to be left alone and prefer to quietly just go about our own lives, trying to raise our families and put in a hard day’s work, we also never, ever back down from fighting for what is right. Y’all are now spurring us on to relish fighting the establishment — truth to power? Yeah, that’s ours now. You know why? Because, you lie.
Now, not only do you call us stupid, again, but also animals. Well, these lambs will NOT be led to the slaughter. I hope you watch us closely, Bill. You just might learn something. And not just some of your fancy book learnin’, but hopefully a little common sense and decency.
