There is just so much wrong with this tweet from late Wednesday morning about the rousing success of the stimulus bill:
If you’ve ever been married you are probably familiar with a similar refrain that goes something like this,
“honey, we made TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS because these Manolo Blahniks were on sale!!!!!”
Or depending on your preference insert the Ping Driver or sports car of your choice. You see where this is headed tho,
the old “we will never know how much worse it would have been otherwise” argument!
Most business people argue this (albeit unsuccessfully) during a downturn… to explain that counter to all reasonable indicators (revenue, expense, headcount, etc. ) they are actually savvy execs because otherwise it could have been much worse.
Oh and in twitter parlance (rt) the official WH Twitter account which is fronted by the ever-glib Robert Gibbs is re-tweeting the NY Times as the source for this awesome news. How nice. Bias? Who me?
