Naomi Wolf, Will You Denounce the Honor Murder of Medine Memi?
In Turkey just recently, a father and grandfather repeatedly beat Medine Memi, a sixteen-year-old girl, for the crime of talking (allegedly) to boys. The police weren’t interested. The beatings were eventually deemed insufficient punishment for Medine for the temerity of having her own human agency, so the father and grandfather killed her by burying her while she was “alive and fully conscious.”
My dear friend and courageous freedom fighter Phyllis Chesler has written about this barbaric murder and described it as a “savage, heartless, primitive act” that “is the ultimate, logical consequence of burying women alive—shrouding them–while they still roam the earth. One becomes claustrophobic under the burqa, until one gets used to being seen as a ghost, invisible, non-human, dead.”
Medine’s father is incredulous about why he has been arrested, explaining, matter-of-factly in his statements to the police, that his daughter had male friends and that the family was unhappy about it. This serves as a reminder of Muslim rapists casually testifying that their victims deserved their fate since they were either not veiled or weren’t Muslims. It also brings to mind when the Spanish Muslim cleric Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, to his great surprise, was prosecuted and sentenced to fifteen months in jail by a Spanish court for giving Muslim men specific instructions in a book on how to beat their wives. In court, he defended himself by arguing — correctly — that he was only repeating and interpreting passages from the Koran (i.e. Sura 4:34).
I can’t help from wondering: when are all the brave Western leftist feminists going to protest with vehement anger about the fate of Medine Memi and about the Islamic ideology that spawned her barbaric murder?
I wonder if we’ll be hearing from Naomi Wolf? She really cares about women’s rights, doesn’t she? Well, she thinks the burqa is “sexy,” we know that.
So the question must be asked: Does Naomi think throwing Medine Memi into a hole in the ground and burying her alive is sexy too? If she doesn’t think it’s sexy, where are her expressions of moral outrage at this vicious crime committed against a young Muslim girl, a crime that represents the horrible oppression of women under Islamic gender apartheid?
Could it just be that we won’t be hearing from Naomi Wolf — or from any of her like-minded “feminists” — because, when it comes down to it, she really doesn’t care about Medine Memi and other victims of Islamic gender apartheid? Could it be that she fully knows that if she speaks out on behalf of Medine, then she might have to speak out against the Islamic theology that engendered her murder? Could it be that Naomi Wolf fully knows this is a step she cannot take because doing so will destroy the entire foundation of her anti-American worldview and her conception of her own personal identity?
Well, we’re waiting for your howls of moral indignation about what happened to Medine Memi in any case, Ms. Wolf.
We know they will never come, neither from you, nor from the ranks of the feminist and progressive Left that you supposedly lead.
The question lingers: Do you have any sense of shame, at last?

How could Mzzzzzzzz…..Wolf possibly have any moral outrage having no morals. Your premise is
wrong. The left is isolated from real life and do not understand anything but their own bubbles
eminating from their bubble bath lives. Naomi Wolf and all her herd should be banished to
Islamoland as a reward for their Anti-American posture and hate. For her a burqa of sack cloth
and ashes, I think she would get along marvelously.
Shoot! I just signed up for this intense debate stuff. I have never heard of it before and I don't know if my constitution can take things that are too intense these days
Naomi is an airhead. Ann Coulter had it right when she said Naomi should stop political commentary and work at Hooters instead.
Jamie, thanks so much for calling Wolfe out on her hypocracy. I say, let the feminist zealots and ideologues continue to speak out and reveal themselves. The more they write and speak, the more they show themselves to be so far out in space and so far away from reality. They do themselves a great disservice to continue to prove to all of us how nutty, hypocritical, and downright ugly they are. I say, feminists, have at it! They are also a herd of cowards who will never break from the pack. That's why I rely on this site to stay on the Wolfes of the world!
Thanks Debby. Your speaking the truth!
We heard enough from the feminists when the Taliban were running Aghanistan, though – incessant howls in the in-box calling for someone to do something about the outrageous practices of male-dominated Islam. When somebody went and did the necessary, he and his aims, his country and his intelligence were all called into question and insulted, presumably because he was a he and he wasn't caring and sharing enough in his approach (although some of us think that it was all too tentative by half). The one time that feminism could and should bring its logic to helping a cause – that of revealing and resisting the very real evils of Islam, rather than promoting the paranoid myths of distorted Engelism – it has bottled out, too caught up in the parallel agendas of socialism and antisemitism to move.
Make the hloupa krava wear a burqa for a month or two and see how sexy she finds it.
Once again, it proves my point that Islam is a cult. The behaviors are all there, beating/killing women for speaking to men and not wearing a certain piece of clothing, and keeping a woman bound and alone, and finally burying her alive. Other manifestations are killing for "Honor," stating a woman deserved her rape, and treating them as something less than human.
Naomi is only interested in castrating American men and in condeming our chauvinist society and culture. She is more injured by the fact that feminists have not yet been declared the Amazon Nation which should rightfully rule this country. Why would she care about a little girl being buried alive in a barbaric culture? Of course, she will never call it barbaric because the men over there would not accept her characterization as obsequiously as the men over here do. They would probably bury her alive if she ever visited Turkey. And she knows it!
I am very much for women's rights and believe women have been treated unfairly and that the first feminist movement NEEDED to happen, but I am NOT a feminist precisely because of women like Naomi Wolf. If the women from the first wave were alive today, they'd be horrified to see the suffering of women under Islam and would be fighting not against their own people but against the chains of Islam that binds not only Islamic women but is coming here!
