Do they think we will get corporations back up if we promise them a temporary tax break? The threatening tax increases and energy legislation far outweigh the temporary break.

More golden goose cooked. Now I smell all the silver and copper ones, (that sold them materials, did their shipping, and basically depended on them,) cooking. Tax revues are diving and unemployment is on the rise. (The temporary jobs created by stimulus will be gone when the money runs out, because the US and pending legislation is still anti-business.) Unless we have lasting pro business changes, we will not have lasting good results.

You have only seen the beginning of our demise. Add this to the PROMISE, (not threat,) of disaster on the Social Security and Medicare for baby Boomers front....

We HAVE to do something smart and permanent to encourage business investment, and we HAVE to deal with our entitlement programs.

Who is John Galt?

Answer= Medicare has been used as a fund for social programs for many decades by the democrats. It was a trust and was turned into a ponzi scheme by them.

So, what is the corporate tax rate? You say they pay far lower taxes, tell me, is that "fact" percentage or aggregate based? Also, these corporations that moved offshore, what was their reasoning? If they pay no taxes then, something else must have motivated their overseas flight? Labor costs based upon ridiculous union contracts? Superfluous lawsuits from liberal lawyers? Insane property taxes and EPA mandated impact fees? Nah. They just WANTED to move away, right? Your comment defies logic.

Rep. Ryan's plan appears to be well-accepted by those minds I admire, but would someone knowledgeable explain in some depth if the criticisms "for seniors on medicare it's a dead end" (Rep. Chris Van Hollen) and "it ends medicare as we know it" (Nancy Pelosi) have any validity or is this just the standard partisan negativity.

This young congressman's plan makes much more sense to me than what has been and is currently happening in the congress today. I read articles posted by learned and exteemed economists (Dr. Thomas Sowell and Dr. Walter E. Williams) and their approaches to correcting and sustaining a productive and lucarative American economy dove tail nicely with congressman Ryan's recommendations. Congressman Ryan's plan would be a good start in re-establishing a wholesome; healthy American entrepeneural economy. We would all benefit from that. Congressional seats were never meant to be lifetime careers in our founders vision and (to coin an often stated phrase), "No-one has ever gotten a job from a poor person... ." So. let's do away with high taxing; high spending, do nothing politicians whose sole driving force is to get rich and be re-elected "till death do they part."

The govt. overtaxes and puts unnecessary restrictions on corporations. They leave the country and
establish themselves in a more friendly economic environment, and the progressives call them
evil and greedy. Lift the restrictions and lower the tax-base on corporations, and see how much
capital flow will come back into this country. The progressives are the greedy ones and won't be happy
until they kill the goose that laid the golden eggs.

TellinYaNowBozos – You are nuts ! Its libs like you that need a free medication plan…

If you dropped the corporate tax rate to 5-7.5% for companies that have greater (>55%) than 55% of their workforce located in the US, you would solve both your jobs issue and future business growth.

Companies would pile in for the reduced tax rate in a secure environment (provided we muzzle the eco freaks) and jobs would follow quickly to comply under the rate.

Fed revenues would double by my calculations…

I've read this roadmap, and it eloquently says what I've been thinking and voting for since 1982, when Reagan's majority couldn't win Social Security reform.

Everyone, under and over 55, should ask themselves: what is the alternative to this Roadmap? I believe it would be either hyperinflation or our credit default orchestrated by Russia with China. Either way we would become a failed state.

It's time for this to happen.

The corporate tax is NOT the second highest in the industrialized world. In fact, corporations pay far lower taxes than they ever have, many corporations according to a recent study paid NO TAX AT ALL, and others have moved their mailing address to offshore addresses, or places like Liberia. The result (you guessed it!): a bankrupt nation, a fabulously wealthy upper class that steals bailout money, a declining Middle Class, and higher taxes for all the idiots who read this website and are too stupid to understand the world.
