The Federalist Papers (which are not plural as you spelled them) were for a government by democratic rule, which is what we are stuck with. The Anti-Federalist Papers were for a government by republic rule, which is the one I would have prefered. These papers basically defined our governments role in this new society. I will agree that the authors, Hamilton and Madison, did start the Republican party that latter became the Democratic-Republican Party. But by todays standards both parties were very much conservative. The Anti-Federalist Papers were even more conservative than the Federalist Papers and the authors of felt that Madison and Hamilton were giving too much power to the federal government. A sentiment that I have myself. The Bill of Rights was later added to appease Patrick Henry, Richard Henry Lee, and others who were believed to have participated in the Anti-Federalist Papers.
