Glenn Beck started off his radio show yesterday by praising a six year old, 900+ page hardcover book called A Patriot’s History of the United States: From Columbus’s Great Discovery to the War on Terror.
Beck and his crew took turns talking up the Larry Schweickart tome, and the author himself:
I actually called Larry because I didn’t know Larry at all. He came highly recommended when we were looking for somebody who understood the progressive movement and didn’t know him. (…) I called him up afterwards about a week after because I read his book and I said, Larry, I can’t tell you how sorry I am. You’re a superstar. This book, A Patriot’s History of the United States, should be required reading for everybody in the United States.
I quickly went over to Amazon.com, where the book was ranked around #280,000. That was around 9:30AM ET.
I kept checking throughout the day, and sure enough, the book’s ranking climbed steadily.
I went back to Amazon.com this morning, just before Beck’s show went to air.
As of 9:00AM ET, 24 hours later, the book is #1.
In other news: a jokey Fox News show that airs at three in the morning has higher ratings than CNN’s prime time lineup.
They’re scared, folks. Really, really terrified.
