The lefty Fox-bashers at NewsHounds are not amused with Sean Hannity. No, sir. It seems that last night, “chickenhawk” Sean took “at least four” jabs at President Barack Obama over his recent mispronunciation of “corpsman” as “corpse-man”:
It’s not as though this is a really significant mistake like, say, invading a country with the faulty belief they had weapons of mass destruction. THAT mistake is rarely mentioned. This “important” news was also on Fox Nation. With video.
Apparently this is supposed to out Hannity as a petty partisan with nothing better with which to attack our beloved leader. I’ll grant that it’s not as bad as…oh, I don’t know…dragging your heels on your own commanders’ stated military needs, or giving 9/11 Truthers jobs within the federal government. Admittedly, it’s not as if Obama got caught indifferent to the deliberate starvation of newborns or anything, either.
But it’s certainly legitimate to point out that the Obamessiah is a mere mortal after all, that those of us concerned over his lack of experience were on to something, and that those who regularly mocked President George W. Bush as a moron for his occasional gaffes (many of which were fake) are transparent hypocrites regarding Obama’s ever-growing list of blunders. Heck, the “stupid Dubya” meme was a full-blown cottage industry!
It also bears repeating that the “really significant mistake” that Fox is supposedly ignoring, “invading a country with the faulty belief they had weapons of mass destruction,” is complete garbage. As anybody who actually, y’know, watched Fox News during Bush’s presidency would know, all the fireworks and investigations over Iraq War intelligence were extensively covered at the time. It’s also garbage because the administration’s faulty belief, it turns out, wasn’t so faulty after all.
NewsHounds’ bark is worse than their bite, but even their bark isn’t much to howl about. It’s going to take more than yipping chihuahuas to take down the biggest dog in cable news.
