John Edwards’ Confidente is a “Rat-Fink”
Leg Thrills and Spine Chills With Chris Matthews, Part 6 ♦
A typical pet-peeve of parents: kids that tattle. Not me, I love a tattle-tale. Every family needs at least one good informant. We were lucky enough to have a good ratio, three out of nine.
Granted there are kids that will tattle just for spite, but then there are those kids that just have an acute sense of right and wrong. When the household rules are broken, life has no harmony; justice must prevail. They go to the authority they know.
I’ve met parents, who when their child came running in to report a crime, they scolded the messenger for tattling, and the perpetrator went unpunished.
We are always teaching our children. The lesson learned here: being a rat is far worse than then any crime. That’s a lesson Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s Hardball obviously learned early and well. Watch him as he reverts back to his playground bully days.
Andrew Young, author of The Politician must have felt like he was back on the fifth grade playground.
Matthews:
“How long did you work for him [John Edwards] that he thought you were loyal to him but you weren’t?”
(Verbal poke in the chest.)
“How long did you convince him you were a loyalist, but you weren’t, you’d already given up on him morally?”
(Poke, poke.)
“How long did you stay with him, after you stopped being loyal to him?”
Andrews:
“Probably a year. Probably a year…”
Matthews:
“So a year, you were basically an undercover guy, working for a guy who thought you were loyal to him, but you weren’t.”
“So how do you feel about that? Being basically a Rat-fink?”
Like the typical schoolyard bully, thumping on the kid that snitched, there Matthews had no recognition of his own transgressions. (Namely: bringing an author on under the false pretense of discussing his new book, badgering and belittling a guest…)
Obviously, Andrews had committed the worst offense: he ran to the only authority he thought would care—the public. Apparently in the weird world out in left field that makes him a bigger rat than Edwards.

One thing for sure about a liberal, they don't like to proven wrong at all cost.
Rhonda, sometimes kids who repeatedly squeal, have intigated the problem just to get attention. Now, Chris Mathews demonstates what can happen to a child that was never caught doing that. They end up getting hired at MSNB.
Good post, Rhonda.
You've got Matthews pegged perfectly. I do believe that Young should have confronted Edwards immediately, left the campaign – and then written the book.
Keep up the great work. (My daughter was the informant in our family).

Thank you John.
As for him confronting Edwards, remember this is the party that wants us to believe a man’s indiscretions should not be considered; it’s his job performance that counts. (How many times did we hear that in the Clinton administration?)
We’re dealing with people who think the good a politician can do for society far out weighs the damage he does to his family.
With this kind of attitude on a nationally televised show, not that anyone is watching, it's no wonder the police cannot get witnesses to crimes in the 'hood! Snitch and you die or get grilled by Matthews. I'm not sure which is worse.
Telling the truth about the liberals is a big no – no. Matthews is a bully. That warm tingling feeling down is leg is him wetting himself.
He did the same thing with Michele Malkin when she went on his show to promote her book. He didn't even mention her book, but attacked her for a completely different issue, of which she wasn't personally involved. I hate bullies!
Very wise of Andrew Young to have been in another local while being interviewed by Matthews. With that exchange and Matthews so wanting to make his point, poor Andrew Young would have needed a towel since Matthews is such a "spitter" when he gets excited.
I was the tattle-tale in my family and my 2 older brothers did not appreciate me. When I got a lot older, I realized my mother was the true culprit, as she encouraged it. And, I am one of those people who have very definate ideas about what is right and what is wrong. I know now, God made me this way. It's great hearing from a parent who realizes their children are like this for a reason.
My informants’ older siblings didn’t appreciate them either. However, today they are still the same honest, upright people who have the respect of their siblings as adults—they can be trusted, and their siblings know it.
Not that I condone a married man with kids taking credit for fathering someone else's out of wedlock baby, that's a different issue, but Andrew Young was wise not to reveal his feelings to his boss for a year. If he had, he would have been systematically discredited until his career was destroyed, and eventually fired. Why give Edwards time to cover his tracks? Better to let him play it out so that everyone could see his true character. Ironically he did us all a favor.
You're right, he did do us a favor.
Chris Matthews is a schmuck, who is deservedly tanking. And anybody not on the Left who thinks he/she will get a fair shake on his show is delusional. Incidentally, the people like Matthews who excoriate Andrew Young are always fast to rise to their feet with enthusiastic cheers on their lips and pitchforks in their hands for Deep Throat guys who bring down anyone on the right. Remember the Pentagon Papers? (If you are too young, go back and look it up and see the gleeful response to those snitches.)
What is still a mystery to me is that the Breck boy was so damn obvious about being a phony
and anything but a decent human being, yet he was fawned over by the left. Leftists need
people like Edwards who have no conscience to do their bidding. A straw man like Obama
with secrets, I may say that he was the quintessential ambulance chaser. Matthews will
soon tire the majority of viewers he has (conservatives who watch the unbelievable).
Reruns of twilight zone are better but similar.
