Now they see that threatened by the actions of Congress. This movement is dangerous to the status quo in Washington because it is not centralized or controlled -- something that Washington depends upon for its power, money and authority. The orthodoxy of the Tea Party is strong belief and conviction in the ability of our Constitution to sustain freedom that empowers individual success. This orthodoxy is the strength that unifies and binds millions of true believers in the political and economic systems that have enabled the United States to be the great nation it is -- despite the relentless propoganda of the far left they've tolerated for thirty-plus years. They see their political system and economic system supported by the freedom in the Constitution to be worth fighting for, and worth investing their time, talent and treasure to sustain -- but only for those who share their convictions. This mobility and dynamicism runs counter to the ideologies of the Democrats and the Republicans, the media, and the stagnant institutions of education. Those stuck in the ideologies and political paradigms of the 19th and 20th century are incapable of harnessing the Tea Party. My perceptions, my predictions. That's no comment on anyone's intentions. It's simply an acknowledgment of the lesson of Babel - keep things local, keep things small. Surely, the movement needs traction. To the extent a national effort meets that purpose, it is welcome. But it should and will be held to account. Indeed. Human nature being what it is, egos and the flow of money can be powerfully negative forces which can destructively affect the noblest of movements. As a local tea partier, my advice is that vigilance and grassroots consensus should be our masters at all levels. Keep it pure. This is just common sense. The grassroots mission is far more important than any of its "leaders" or "organizers".
