It’s like trying to kill Freddy Krueger.

Maybe we can get Sarah Palin to help us out, because we’re going to need death panels to get rid of Obamacare. White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with John King (video from CNN below), and glibly pronounced that the House was only one vote away from passing the Senate Bill, which would of course mean that they could then send it to President Obama for a signature.

As recently as January 22, 2009 Speaker Pelosi said:

“I don’t think it’s possible to pass the Senate bill in the House, I don’t see the votes for it at this time.”

By January 29, Pelosi was more resolved:

“You go through the gate. If the gate’s closed, you go over the fence. If that doesn’t work, we’ll parachute in, but we’re going to get health reform passed.”

So who knows what, and who’s telling the truth, if anybody? As usual, the legendary transparency of the Obama Administration is really more like the audacity of opacity, and so it is anyone’s guess as to what’s really going on.

It seems that come hell or high water, the Democrats are determined to ram this bill down our throats. The Democrats in Congress have heard the voice of the American people about their Health Care Reform plan, and they couldn’t care any less what we think.
