“Swemson’s Subtitles” are intended to function as a truth filter offering a translation of what Obama’s words really mean, what he really believes, & what he’s really planning to do for to us and our country. Those who disagree with these translations are encouraged to comment, and offer their own interpretation of what he was really saying.

Obama just said:

“Let’s invest in our people without leaving them a mountain of debt.

I’m also calling on Congress to continue down the path of earmark reform.

We cannot wage a perpetual campaign where the only goal is to see who can get the most embarrassing headlines about their opponent

Let’s reject the false choice between protecting our people and upholding our values.

Since the day I took office, we have renewed our focus on the terrorists who threaten our nation.

And so on, and so on, blah blah blah ad nauseum….”

Swemson’s Subtitle:

“And the lies just keep coming…..

Those were some pretty good whoppers, but unfortunately, I’m already well past my bull$#@t translation quota for the day.

I’ll grant Obama credit however for consistency, by sticking to the tried & true progressive strategy of accusing the right of doing all of the dastardly things that they’re doing themselves. Obama’s speech tonight was a masterpiece. I can’t think of a single issue or group that he didn’t pander to or throw a shout out to tonight. He told virtually everyone what they wanted to hear, with grace and finesse, as he parsed his words carefully, so that it will be easy for him down the road to explain why he wasn’t able to do what he said he’d do tonight. And if his teleprompter isn’t available when he’s asked, he can always blame things on Bush… It’s worked thus far, so why fix it if it ain’t broke!

I can’t wait to hear what Charles Krauthammer has to say about this farce.

G’nite! all !
