Obama just called for a jobs bill.
“Government can create the conditions necessary for businesses to expand and hire more workers. We should start where most new jobs do, in small businesses, companies that begin when an entrepreneur takes a chance on a dream or a workers decides it’s time she became her own boss.”
And why isn’t this happening? Surprisingly, it’s not Bush’s fault. It is the fault of bankers! The demon Wall Street bankers! He proposes taking $30 billion of the re-paid TARP money and use it to help community banks to give “small businesses the credit they need to stay afloat.”
Finally! — “let’s also eliminate all capital gains taxes on small business investment.” This is pure Alinsky — tell them what they want to hear. He just wanted to make the conservatives have to clap.
