Media Matters Now Doing Ads for Beck and O’Reilly’s Bold Fresh Tour

2010 January 27

No, really. They are running them on YouTube and getting lots of hits. They must have caved in and adopted a “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” strategy of backhanded support, since the more they critique Fox the higher Fox’s ratings go.

Check out this clip, in which O’Reilly says that the South Side of Chicago is “like Haiti.”

This was presented without comment, so Media Matters must agree. If they were to present this as a critique (as they are purportedly a media watchdog group) they probably would have called O’Reilly on his ridiculous understatement. Chicago’s murder rate is more than 50% higher than that of Haiti (18/100,000 vs. 11.5/100,000 in Haiti).

Then they released this clip, in which O’Reilly says that we should waterboard Reid and Pelosi, again, presented without comment.

If only O’Reilly were that “bold and fresh” on his show, instead of saving all the great soundbites for Dennis Miller.

The Bold Fresh Tour looks fantastic. I had been completely uninterested before Media Matters ran these excellent ads. Too bad it’s sold out. I can’t wait for their ads for Beck. He tends to make controversial statements from time to time, you know.

I love when Leftists do stuff like this. They think this speaks for itself in terms of it being "wrong" but in fact it does just the opposite, it reveals to us just how screwed up thier thinking is if they actually think anyone sane is going to be bothered by this.

If they ran out of material, we don't mind a bit of publicity.

I am reminded years ago, when the USSR use to show this country's slums to enhance their socialist agenda, but their viewers soon noticed, no one was shoeless.

    Carry on, Media Matters.
