Michael van der Galien was born in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden in 1984. For as long as he can remember, he has been obsessed with the United States. When he was 17 years old, he started blogging - of course about America. His articles have been published at Big Hollywood, Pajamas Media, Hot Air (the GreenRoom) and Right Across The Atlantic. He's also an editor for the Dutch conservative blog, De Dagelijkse Standaard.

Oh my, Beck wiped the floor with birthers just now. That caught me by surprise. I didn’t think he would go after birthers this aggressively.

Having said that: he’s completely right, of course. The birther conspiracy doesn’t make sense.

Beck answers the question whether he believes Obama is a socialist as follows: first refuses to answer it directly, then says “no, I believe he’s a radical progressive. Oh, fun, I too can play this game.” I’m not sure that’s the best answer he could’ve given. He should have said “yes, of course he is.” And then backed this statement up with the facts he assembled in the last year or so.
