Today I was pleased to learn that something I’ve been predicting for ten years has finally happened:
Science is bunk.
Speaking of bunk: I’m no Photoshop expert, but I do know walruses are fat.
And I’m looking at that online article at The Scotsman, and I’m thinking: the only thing missing in that stock photo is a mail order rifle and a copy of The Militant…
Luckily, my fellow blogger and co-defendant Kate McMillan is also a professional artist and photographer. So I sent her the link, and she immediately replied:
“I want to know how high they can jump. Nice catch.”
Let’s review, shall we? A major newspaper just used really fake looking stock photo to illustrate a “news” story about the latest fake scientific findings, designed to refute those old fake scientific findings we were all stressed out about back in the ’80s.
PS: Kate spent one minute on Google and discovered that:
The original photo caption at Greenpeace says it was taken in Alaska in 1999. So, obviously, it’s just the ticket to illustrate a story about ozone over the opposite pole.
And they wonder why newspapers are dying.
