“American Idol” viewership isn’t what it once was, but the performance of a simple but catchy original song called “Pants on the Ground” by a man calling himself General Larry Platt has taken YouTube by storm. The guy has had a bigger hit than K-Fed could ever have hoped for. I personally spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to make the song my ringtone.

And now, as TMZ reports, a member of Canada’s legislative assembly used his time on the floor to recite the song’s chorus to attack the leader of the Conservative Party for being caught with his “pants on the ground.”

At this point, my 2012 endorsement is up for grabs. I’m looking for someone not afraid to demonstrate bold leadership. The first candidate to sing “Pants on the Ground” will win the highly-coveted Ryan Mauro endorsement. It’s a real game changer.
