As pictures of the Senate chamber filled the screen and a scrolling news ticket promised that Thief-In-Chief, Obama would soon address the masses on the triumph of his nationalization of medicine, the voice-over of a reacting viewer could be heard on C-Span this morning:
“I took down my Christmas Tree. I took down my wreath. I took the lights off my house and everyone in America, every light in America should go out because of this. This is supposed to be a religious holiday, and they did this on Christmas.”
Only a delusional Pollyanna could view this morning’s Senate vote as anything but dire. In an impeccable article at Front Page Magazine, John Perazzo details the Communist roots of Obamaration and makes the radical nature of this conflict perfectly clear. It is very important for Americans to win the most important victory of this Christmas Eve, refusing to allow Health-neglect to ruin a moment of their Christmas joy.
The belief in a merciful Creator and His personal intervention in human history has driven strong opposition to the barbaric usurpation of human rights by the state that is at the heart of Marxism and at the heart of this morning’s vote in the Senate.
Another C-Span caller lamenting Obamaration predicted:
“I believe there will be a war over this.”
The “war over this” is perfectly illustrated by the presence of a Mao Zadong Christmas Tree ornament in the White House. It is the attempt of Communism to invasively permeate that with which it is ideologically incompatible: Socialized health rationing imposed on an independent market, dictatorial bureaucracy foisted on a free people, a Communist butcher’s face thrust on a symbol of Christianity.
Whoever hung that ornament would have rejoiced to hear the C-Span caller detail the mournful removal of Christmas celebration from her home. One can only imagine the revolutionary euphoria of the moment, the very fantasy of occupying America on the day so many celebrate their dearest religious holiday.
I for one am going downstairs to decorate my Christmas Tree, finish my Nativity Scene, and burn some cookies. I will do it with all the more joy and confidence because I know that the Child who was born and His message of true Charity and freedom have triumphed over every conceivable attempt to destroy Him and erase Him from History. Taking down our trees, putting out the lights and allowing this Healthneglect Bill to obscure one moment of celebration would be the true victory of the Communists now invading our country.
Next week, we can get back to politics. On this special day, let’s make sure that the Grinch who rode in while we were asleep and tried to steal our Christmas will peer out over America and still hear us singing.
