Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) accused Obamacare opponents of acting just like the supporters of slavery “who dug in their heels” against those who were trying to end slavery.  I hope that Karl Rove was right last night in saying on “Hannity’s America” that Reid, who will be running for re-election next year, is way behind in the polls even against a virtual unknown.
Reid is a slave to the Shadow Party, led by far Left groups such as MoveOn.org. They are putting pressure on him to ram through a poorly conceived 2000+ page bill that he crafted behind closed doors.  And he jumps at their every command.
Some members of his own party are unwilling to back the public option and federally subsidized insurance programs that pay for abortion. MoveOn.org dismisses their concerns and is threatening them with primary challenges next year:
If a Democratic Senator helps block an up-or-down vote on health care reform, there need to be consequences. We’ve launched the Health Care Accountability Pledge so that a primary challenge against any Democrat who filibusters would get off to a well-funded start.
Reid knows that if he has any chance at all of being re-elected next year, he needs all the support that he can get from MoveOn.org, George Soros’s network of far Left groups, and other leaders of the Shadow Party. That means he has to deliver on Obamacare or else. We can expect Reid to resort to desperate measures, such as using the budget reconciliation vehicle, to end-run any filibuster that has a chance of success. After all, he can’t disappoint his masters!
Here is what MoveOn.org is telling its members:
Alarming news: thanks to a tiny minority of conservative Democrats, the public option could be dead within days. But Harry Reid can still save it, and we need him to act fast. Can you sign an emergency petition to Sen. Reid today?
Lets hope that the people of Nevada will boot Reid out of office and put him out of his misery – and ours. That will free us of at least one slave to the Shadow Party.
