Bill is right

Look, pollution is still an issue, even though AGW is not and never has been...

Our pollution problem is not however due to CO2., but rather to the toxic chemicals & carcinogens that are released into our air & our waters. And a big part of the problem is natural, such as the sulphur dioxide, which comes from volcanos.

But look at the progress we've made.

My car in college (a 63' GTO) got 8 miles to the gallon, but at 29 cents per gallon, I didn't care... The car I drive today gets 22 city and 28 highway, & it's the best car I've ever owned.

Diesel engines are now twice as efficient as they were 25 years ago, and a company in Australia has just come up with an aftermarket device that can cut diesel emissions down by close to 80% from where they are now.

With the technology we've developed in the last 35 years, we've cut vehicular emissions cut by more than 50%, and in the next 50 years technology will reduce it to far less than it is today.

There are a number of new technologies being worked on now, that promise to eliminate hydrocarbon emissions completely, and I'll stick my neck out & say, that one of these may well be ready to hit the market within 5 years, and it has the ability to wipe out both vehicular emissions, as well as all the emissions from our power generation plants as well..

The bottom line, is that with more than 200 years worth of oil reserves, and the largest natural gas reserves in the world, we have more than enough to sustain our needs until the scientists and engineers solve the problem for us, and I'm certain that they will.

The industrialized nations have pissed away $50 Billion in recent years trying to figure out how we can change the climate. If we open up our oil reserves, the wealth that we will create will be more than enough to fix our country's economy, pay off our LEGITIMATE national debt, and deal with ancillary problems like pollution along the way.

As long as we can get rid of our big and corrupt government, all of this can happen, and at this junction in our nation's history, when we are literally facing the abyss, I believe that we must do this by whatever means necessary if we're to survive...

It's true that many Americans don't read books... But having recently moved from the epicenter of the intellectual elites to a small town in the boondocks I can tell you from personal experience that there's more common wisdom in these people than in half of the professors at our universities....

Don't make the mistake of thinking that people who aren't intellectuals, are necessarily stupid...

There are plenty intellectuals that I've run across who couldn't find their own a$$ with both hands in the dark.

JE the US has more oil than rest of the world. There is just as much oil in Alaska as there is in Montana and North Dakota. Have you ever heard about Gull Island up on the North Slope of Alaska, and that is just one of large oil fields that could be develped in Alaska. In California there is still 7 1/2 billion barrells of oil under the city of Long Beach. But the greenie weenies are fighting to stop drilling there. Off the coast of CA there is estimated 33 billion barrells of oil. But the Communist Democrats don't want to drill becasue of oil spills. There only problem is that mother natural now causes the oil spills no man, since the oil companies can afford the liablities of a oil spill they have improved on how they drill and more careful with their operations.

@F. Swemson

At the end of the day... all this global warming, oil, and constitution crap will mean nothing. Yes I can here half of you jumping up and down claiming US this and that but it does not change the fact that 1/3rd (76 million) people are hitting social security and medicare.

That train cannot be derailed or debunked... it is cold hard truth.

In the end we all see 45-65% taxes on the verge and no amount of shell games or yelling will change this. We better start putting some more headcount under this upside down triangle or we are all going to get bent over much more in the future.

that is inevitable.

Could you please explain how the current trend to buy back our own renewable resources from foreign countries is considered energy independence? Many of the solar, wind, and other plants being built in the U.S. are owned by companies from foreign countries. They buy many of the parts to install the plants from their own and other foreign countries and then sell what they reap of our resources back to us. I do not call that energy independence. Do you?
Another question I would love to have answered is why the public isn't aware of this trend.

Always excuses. Get caught with your pants down and we didn't see what we saw.

Even if the man-made global warming fraud was real, who in their right mind would want the U.N. making world policy?

Has the whole world gone insane? (We know our government has.)
