Shocking: Leftist Jon Stewart Talks about ClimateGate
It’s unbelievable, but while the entire Left has decided to ignore ClimateGate, Â leftist comedian Jon Stewart broke ranks. On his show yesterday, Stewart shattered the silence surrounding the scandal and actually criticized the scientists involved. It’s yet another sign that Conservatives are mistaken to believe that the host of “The Daily Show” is one and the same as fellow Leftists like Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann.
They had, he said, done tremendous damage to the image of science in general. Laughing an obvious fake laugh, Stewart said, ironically, that the emails in which the now infamous scientists admit they’re putting in data to “hide the decline” in global temperatures are,
nothing. He was just using a trick. To hide the decline. That’s just scientist-speak for using a standard statistical technique recalibrating  data in order to… [suddenly becoming extremely nervous] trick you.
He even made fun of hero of the Far Left, Al Gore.
“Poor Al Gore. Global warming completely debunked via the very Internet you invented. Oh, oh the irony!”
Now, being the Leftist he is, Stewart couldn’t quite bring himself to admit that ClimateGate proves that the manmade global warming theory itself, has many weaknesses. Nor could he resist from lashing out at conservatives, in this case at Senator Jim Inhofe. But compared to his leftist brethren, Stewart has been Mr. Logic when it comes to ClimateGate. As Hot Air’s AllahPundit notes:
No less a skeptic than Jim Inhofe was sufficiently pleased with this bit to post it to his own YouTube account, even though its primary target ultimately is, er, Jim Inhofe. Think of it as the “Daily Show†equivalent of Obama’s new timetable: Very far from ideal, but probably the best you’re going to do from a lefty.
For Stewart, today was not the first time he broke ranks with the Left. When Andrew Breitbart (conservative columnist, former editor for the Drudge Report, and founder of Big Hollywood and Big Government) published videos that showed ACORN-workers conspiring to help set up an illegal brothel inhabited by underaged prostitutes, the host of The Daily Show was also the only Leftist member of the MSM willing to talk about it.
Unlike most MSM mouthpieces, then, Stewart has a record of covering the issues other Leftists would rather bury.
Equally amazing is the fact that his fellow Leftists accept Stewart’s criticism without complaining. As I see it, the reason for this is that Stewart is a comedian. Make no mistake about it, the Daily Kos crowd would have undoubtedly launched a campaign to boycott him a long time ago, if he was a regular Leftist pundit. Him being a comedian enables them to laugh off his criticism. “He’s just joking around, nothing to see here, move along.”
Which brings us to the question of how Conservatives should deal with Stewart. Although I believe that Conservatives should often treat the Left the same way the Left has treated us for years now – with aggressiveness and outspokenness – I also think we should be careful not to equate Stewart with his fellow Progressives. “The Daily Show” is one of the few programs catering to an overwhelmingly Leftist audience, which isn’t completely closing its eyes to the Culture of Corruption of the Left. Stewart may not be our friend, but he’s certainly not our mortal enemy either. Let’s treat him accordingly.
Lyndon B. Johnson famously said that the Vietnam War was over if had lost Walter Cronkite. The global warming scam job may also be over if Jon Stewart unhesitatingly makes fun of the movement’s super-star scientists. Obama probably has a snowball’s chance in hell of getting any cap and trade legislation through both houses of Congress. It is regrettable that so much money has already been wasted. Let’s hope we have learned our lesson and from here on end demand that climate scientists post the results of their research on the Internet.
Lies, damned lies, and statistics
The falsification of data and the conspiracy to commit same etc, constitutes serious criminal activity. Further, the granting of public funds for research warrants a federal investigation. I’m hoping the perpetrators, including possibly Professor Michael Mann, director of Pennsylvania State University’s Earth System Science Centre and a regular contributor to the popular climate science blog Real Climate, and their facilitators will be tracked down and prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows. — Michael Santomauro
I’ve never considered Stewart to be that deeply entrenched within the Left. He has liberal leanings to be sure, but I think they’re mostly of the fashion-statement variety that so many entertainers adopt in order maintain their Hollywood street cred. He’s about getting laughs, and he’ll get them however he can. I don’t think he’s the kool-aid drinking type. I can’t see him sacrificing a successful TV career in the name of the Left. His bottom line is comedy, not politics.
I agree, Cap & Trade was left on the back porch of the Senate and if the cold didn’t kill it, Climategate most certainly did. Just imagine if Jon routinely used his comedic skills to expose the bounty of hypocrisy that is modern liberalism. Or for that matter, if he just ripped on everyone regardless of the letter after their name. Now that’s a show I would watch!

There definitely is a cover up going on. Try posting anything ClimateGate
related on the Canada.com news network. It will not be posted. If it does
because you at least talk within the context of the article, it may pass
the mod but it will eventually get deleted. In fact, I have seen articles
disappearing. This includes CTV and other major media that gets government
funding & funding from special interest groups.
This is fraud at the highest level. I am sure many of our politicians
bought into the program and are already enjoying Carbon Tax proceeds. They
were even hoping for more. It may well be too late for us to stop what has
been done so far in a timely manner.
Every major political party in Canada bought into the program. All of their
platforms include measures to tactical climate change. Either carbon tax,
cap & trade, carbon capture or a combination of them all.
This is going to take a long time to sort out but if they think it will
simply disappear, that is foolishness. Politicians should plan long & hard
but they shouldn’t ignore it. This issue will not go away.
If they do not take action to at least address the Canadian public soon
about ClimateGate, they are condoning fraud & white collar crime of the
highest magnitude.

Jon is coming to the conclusion that there is too much material being generated by the left to ignore any further. It’s a lot funnier, too.

Obviously Stewart is telling the truth when he says: “using a standard statistical technique recalibrating data” and is joking when he says: “in order to trick you.” Why? These emails were between scientists and were never meant to be shared with the public, so obviously the word “trick” is not meant to fool anyone, it’s a statistical technique.
“Climategate” is nothing more than scientists arguing over minutiae. That’s all it is folks!

You should compare Mann’s Hockey Stick graph with the actual data and you’ll see how much FUDGING has been applied to the data. It’s shocking. It’s also going to sink him.
So get on the Internet, look around, have an open mind, and THINK!
