White House Communications Director Anita Dunn will step down by the end of November and be replaced by her deputy Dan Pfeiffer, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.
Dunn’s departure had been expected as she took the position on an interim basis earlier in the year.
Before joining the White House, Pfeiffer worked on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign and also for several Democratic senators.
NewsReal has previously been very critical of Dunn for her praise of history’s greatest mass murderer, Chairman Mao. Click here for our coverage of that controversy.
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin points out that Dunn is not being thrown under the bus ala 9/11 Truther crackpot Van Jones:
Dunn never planned to stay in the role permanently. So don’t mistake this for a Van Jones-style under-the-bus disappearance. She may be cutting back and switching seats (she remains as a consultant), but she’s not going anywhere.
