Michael van der Galien was born in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden in 1984. For as long as he can remember, he has been obsessed with the United States. When he was 17 years old, he started blogging - of course about America. His articles have been published at Big Hollywood, Pajamas Media, Hot Air (the GreenRoom) and Right Across The Atlantic. He's also an editor for the Dutch conservative blog, De Dagelijkse Standaard.

The Weblog Awards are the world’s largest blog competition with over 930,000 votes cast in 2008 edition and nearly three million votes cast in all editions since 2003. They are probably the most prestigious awards a blog can win. Just being nominated is already a tremendous honor.

Which is why we call on you to nominate us. Doing so only takes a few seconds, but would do us a tremendous service. So, if you enjoy this blog and support its mission, please consider taking the time to give us the honor of being nominated in one (or more) of the following categories:

1. Best New Political Weblog

2. Best New Weblog

3. Best Conservative Weblog

Thank you.
